How Th3rdstream Writes Music For Today’s Multimedia Content

Inspired by the Miles Davis-Gunther Schuller collaboration in the mid-20th century, Roahn Hylton & Jacob Yoffee took the idea of a third stream of music as a guiding principle. Miles Davis was eschewing the label of ‘jazz’ or ‘classical’ with his music and instead declared his music was an alternate ‘Third’ stream of music.
For Roahn & Jacob this has become a mission statement; to actively search for musical situations that are seemingly uncomfortable, foreign, undiscovered country.
After a few years of working together on albums, films, episodic projects and advertising the process was solidified and Th3rdstream was born.
Currently Roahn Hylton & Jacob Yoffee as Th3rdstream are both artists, releasing music for the pure love of the art form, and film composer/producers, creating custom music scores & soundtracks for some of the biggest studios in the world. As a production team the business has grown into a full-service company that provides bespoke score & songs for everything from Film & TV to movie trailers & commercial advertising.
